THE BEAST: Septage, FOG,-Sludge Screening System
The BEAST isn’t limited to septage. It has repeatedly shown it can handle extremely challenging waste streams. From screening debris in vactor truck loads to pulling out inorganic material from fats, oils and grease, it takes them all in its stride.
Its design choices are intentional. A compact influent tank lets the debris-laden flow drop straight into the rotating drum screen. As the drum turns, lifting flights capture the solids, carry them over the drum, and drop them into the auger trough. From there, the auger moves the material into the wash and dewatering sections.
You don’t need a rock trap or costly grinders with the BEAST. Any stones that can pass through a truck discharge hose are removed by the screen and auger. It also handles rags and bulky items without fuss. Dumpsters downstream of the BEAST have turned up towels, T‑shirts, screwdrivers, rocks, drinking straws, and more.
A dual-drive setup lets the screen and auger run independently to match the incoming load. The drum sits at 25° and turns slower than the auger to improve capture, while the auger spins faster to clear solids quickly. The screen drive is mounted at the top of the drum, removing the need for support arms at the inlet end and keeping the entry path completely open for incoming flow.
Did you know?
- The drum and auger have separate drives, allowing each to run at the best speed for efficient debris removal.
- A two-stage tank layout minimises settling and keeps material in suspension.
- A dual-seal arrangement on the screen cylinder stops bypass.
- The Beast 1400 includes two inlet connections, so it can take flows from two trucks at the same time.
- The Beast 1200 is the go-to size for many septage jobs.
- The Baby Beast 800 fits the needs of typical plants that accept septage.
